    学生评价

    • Rocky employs the best professors. I am only a sophomore, however, I have enjoyed all my professors so far. All my professors know my name and care about my success. Nearly all the professors are readily avaiable outside of class to help someone if they need extra assistance. I like the school because professors take attendance, and if someone is repeatedly absent they try to track down that student and make sure everything is alright with the student.
    • There are a wide range of academics and you can even make up your own major if wanted
    • Small classes lots of involvement by advisors and professors it is all great!
    • RMC is known for the Equestrian and Aviation programs. The Equestrian program has world class instructors (Scott & Amy Neuman and Chris Brown) that are active in the equine community. The latter two have Master's degrees in Equine Science, the first is an international AQHA judge. All three are graduates of the RMC Equestrian Studies program.
    • Graduates of the Rocky Mountain College Equestrian program are required to complete an internship. Because the instructors are actively involved in the equestrian industry and have close relationships with their students, they are able to make quality internship matches. Many of these internships lead to job offers!
    • Each student in the program, that is enrolled in a riding class, is assigned a horse. Students are allowed to bring their personal horse, but due to the rigor of the program and the maneuvers students learn, many horses are not able to help their student learn at optimum. The vast majority of students work with a horse that is provided to the program by people in the community or the instructors themselves. The quality of horses range from past winners of World shows and the Congress, to backyard trail horses, to horses that have completed the extensive Colt Training class. The match is made based on aspects such as the experience of the rider, level of the horse's training, and the personality of both parties. The idea is to make a match that will provide the student with the best opportunity for growth, educationally and personally.
    • The equestrian facilities are located less than 15 miles from the main campus. There are two indoor arenas, an outdoor arena, and about a dozen roundpens. Program horses are housed in one of the 75 box stalls and are managed by the students. It is the responsibility of all students to complete daily chores (feeding, watering, sweeping, watering arenas, refilling grain & lime bins) and each student is responsible for the daily cleaning the stall of their assigned horse. For weekend chores and stall cleaning, students are split into Chore Teams and do these weekend chores two or three times per semester on a rotational basis.
    • The curriculum is based on what major(s) the student chooses to pursue within the program. Students have the option of choosing from the following majors: Equitation & Training, Riding Instruction, Business Management, Journalism, and Therapeutic Riding. Following more than one of these paths is encouraged and easily managed due to the overlap of requirements. Even multi-majoring with two departments can be done. Many students with the ultimate goal of veterinary school, often enroll in one (or two) of the equestrian majors and a biology major (maybe even with a Chemistry minor). It is rumored that the Equestrian department will be introducing a Pre-Veterinary major within the next few years. Because of the Liberal Arts base of RMC, it is not uncommon to come across a student who is an Equestrian major who is minoring in art or history.
    • The workload provided by the various classes is enough to keep the students engaged in their respective fields, without overwhelming them. There are times the load seems heavy, but once it is all said and done, it makes sense as to why the specific program was followed.*(5)
