• I'm a double major, and no one really knows how to deal with us for some reason.
• Not all professors are equal, but with the money I'm paying I want to be at least taught something.
• Being a biology major is very exciting and the faculty are wonderful. They encourage learning outside the classroom and are very helpful in finding opportunities for internships and research. It's time consuming and not for the feeble minded, but it is extremely rewarding.
• The Archaeology program is famous here at Lyco, but the sciences are incredible as well. The Criminology and Criminal Justice programs are top 25 in the country. The professors are more than willing to put aside time to help and encourage their students. They provide all kinds of research opportunities, etc.
• The classes are average. I feel like I'm still in high school with the material and difficulty levels of everything. Some teachers are great others not so great.
• Being an International Studies major, you have the benefit of working with many other departments, however sometimes that means the International Studies program falling prey to changes in curriculum in other departments which can make it difficult times. Still, both professors and adminadministration go above and beyond to make a program that works just for you.
• Ups and Downs of a Small School – Being a small school, it can be hard to organize a class schedule at times, departments are smaller and classes occur less often than they do at larger schools. Still, you develop a close relationship with the professors both in and out of your departments as well as a lot individual help and guidance in your classes, since professors really know who you are and what you need help with. All of my professors were always very accessible, often going above and beyond anything you can imagine. There was a wide variety of types of learning as well, hands on examples and projects when possible, as well as a nice balance between lecture and discussion classes.
• Research Opportunities – All of the instructors in the Biology department are highly specialized in their fields and perform research outside the classroom setting. There are many opportunities as an undergraduate student to work closely with professors and work on research with them.
• A Lot of Hard Working People – A unique aspect of my major in Corporate Communication is our "Colloquium". This is a club that we participate in for four semesters of our education. In this club, we participate in two main activities - the college radio station and the college newspaper. This is a unique opportunity to get direct experience in mass communications that we can use in our futures. The workload is intense but every part of it is useful. I feel that I will have a lot of job opportunities with this major.
• Business and Pleasure – Fun, down to business, passionate, a lot of teaching and learning, not to serious, easy to learn.
• Liberal Arts – A solid line up of Majors and classes which are open to all students in any department. You are encouraged to take courses from other departments. Professors know you by name for the most part and are happy to talk with you about anything.
• The professors are very helpful. The workload depends on the major you are taking. There are a variety of areas that students can pick to study. The curriculums are good in many classes. The class size is smaller so you can interact and talk more with your professor. Most professors know all of their students names.* (5)
