• Student Body: The student body is very dedicated and hard-working. Most are raising families and working part time while going to school full time. So there is not a whole lot of interaction outside of the campus because of very busy personal lives.
• Academic Experience: I have yet to enter a program because I am still working on my prerequisites. My prerequisite classes are up to my discretion so there really is not much room for dull classes unless you want them.
• Academic Experience: Portland Community College is what YOU make it! This college caters to many people from varying walks of life. People you come across are usually quite ambitious people. There is a stigma that community college is for those who could not get into a university. That could not be furthest from the truth! In fact, most students are balancing raising a family, working and/or furthering their education to create or join organizations that benefits the community. The curriculum here is just as rigorous as curriculums at a university ( because majority of the professors teach at universities also). The workload is dependent upon the class and the professors. I have heard of some professors who do not give out required homework, but the exams are ridiculously hard. There are endless opportunities for for people here backed by strong support and aid from the administration. If only it were a university...
• Campus Resources: The campus I went to, Sylvania, was absolutely beautiful. It has a lot of resources and study places and such. I loved it. Other campuses are not as good though.*(4)
