• Campus Resources: This campus is full of useful resources! The athletic centers are open to every Lakeland student and even to the public for a small fee. The student centers, library, and study centers all are a very useful part of Lakeland community college and play a huge role in making sure that students are getting the utmost education here.
• Overall Experience: It's the nearest and cheapest school. You usually get out of classes what you put into them. The faculty is generally friendly, though competence varies. Most are good, a few are appalling, some are quite excellent.
• Academic Experience: My Education and Psychology classes have been excellent. I feel that they have actually prepared me for my job. As an English major, I've only been braced for the horror of what public schools put out as far as students go. Peer-editing is a scary thing.
• Academic Experience: Workloads seem heavy to me, but I rarely do half the studying my professors think I do. If it interests me, I know it. If it doesn't, it's easy enough to scan the PowerPoint slides and rely on my semi-photographic memory. As far as writing goes, I can dash something off in an hour that they think worked on for a week. It's probably below average. I've had no trouble to date. My Spanish course was indeed challenging. I learned a ton, the workload seemed adequate, and the teacher was extremely competent. Enthusiasm for the profession is generally quite high.
• Campus Quality: There is no living on campus. All the buildings are connected which makes for an easy commute to each class. It is very easy to find classes and difficult to get lost.*(4)
