• Campus Resources: The computer network is pretty decent but I prefer to have my own computer.
• Campus Quality: We have good programs aimed especially for people in nursing.
• Academic Experience: A program that Terra particularly excels in its Business and Liberal Arts division. The music faculty is experienced, intelligent, and friendly. The technology and resources are top-notch, noticeably so compared to the technology of the rest of the school. The curriculum is reasonable, students are encouraged in many ways to take more electives than one requires. With this school being a community college, almost all my classes are one-on-one, which allows me to go at my own pace. While I won't find out for sure how Terra compares to other schools until I transfer, I can guess that Terra has one of the best Music programs out there.
• Academic Experience: Terra State Community college is a unique experience. Its community aspect gives it a new set of pros and cons. The advantages of a community college are small class sizes, focused faculty, generally cheaper tuition, and flexible scheduling, and in most of these Terra excels in. Many of Terra's advertisements are rightfully boasted; the curriculum catalog, though relatively limited compared to larger colleges, provides a very helpful stepping stone for students who transfer to a larger college or university.The small problems that sometimes arise can also be attributed to the small, local campus. One notable thing that I had trouble with was the registration process, which while it was tedious and tiresome, resulted in no lasting issues, and, in my opinion, a result of Terra acclimatizing to new technology, a problem that may go away within the next few years. Other issues some students might have is the lack of on-campus housing, limited student activities, and the limited curriculum. Again, these are all disadvantages associated with small colleges. Terra does well both because of and in spite of its size.*(4)
