物理PhD

- 面试时间：2月6日
NGS是NUS下的一个交叉学科学院，和普通专业略有不同，一是奖学金比较高，二是第一年专业不确定随便选理工科喜闻乐见专业尽在囊中，三是还和其他学校ICL，Duke之类有joint program。坡国貌似今年又没几个人申请，反正我觉得蛮好的嘛，奖学金那么高，男女比例小于1，空气清新环境适宜，blabla。对我来说去美国的二线学校还不如去NGS选个好导师好专业更好，我已经基本打算如果美校专排TOP20学校不给offer那我就去NGS玩了。
这次面试的老师有两个，一个应该是美国人，口音很正也很好听，就像英语听力里的男主角一样；第二个是亚洲人，听口音听得出，但是貌似不怎么提问。
这次气氛相当好，老师也很热情。我也吸取了Umich经验教训准备更充分了一点。开头先打招呼，说恭喜你xxx（让我想到了泪流满面的Umich面试，老师那冷冰冰的语气让人伤心，连鼓励的话都说的让人伤心），然后就开始提问了。
问题有以下几个：
1、说说你自己，大概是研究兴趣与研究经历吧
2、你说了理论啊，再说说你做的实验性课题吧
3、你为什么喜欢科研啊，又脏又累，我知道好多中国学生，他们就是来混文凭做跳
板的是什么的…
4、我们NGS有啥好的
5、我们那么好，你还申了别的学校嘛？我说啊申了啊，比如啊，然后下意识就是Umich（看这学校对我心灵造成了多大创伤）
最后thank you之类的一阵乱战，面试算是结束了。

二、
面试的是个生物系老师，说只有RA，如果申master有1500新加坡元，2年后转PhD 2000，不知物理系这边如何

A: 申请了Penn Satet（好一些的学校，实话实说增加可信度），但是它奖学金很难拿（这句话千万别少，即使你实际拒绝了它的18000的奖学金），还有University of Missouri-Rolla（烂校，伏笔），但它们没有NUS好。

- 申请专业：物理PhD；学生背景：武汉大学；面试时间：2月10日
貌似武大物理今年就我一个申请了National University of Singapore(NUS),因为也是想拿它来保底。想想估计会对以后物理的或者其他专业的XDXM有用，所以还是写出来。
前两天到的上海，昨天先到Hilton 酒店踩好了点，看到的是外国人多于中国人的情景还是有点小不适应，呵呵。
今天去得很早了，原本是安排在10:50，我9点就到了。一到以为要等着，没有想到新加坡小米很热情，就直接叫进到一个ROOM 里写作文，15分钟写完，题目是：why choose science as career?
做完了，出来发现今天人来得好象有点少，也估计是我早到的缘故，小米又热情地叫我去INTERVIEW，我说我not on the schedule now. 她说IT IS OK！
其实我想着也是早死早投胎的问题，所以也信心十足地就进去了，面试的是PHYSICS的Dr. Wang Xue Sen. 之前查过他的信息，是个中国人，在Marryland拿的PhD， 和他谈话比较融洽吧，没有出什么难题：
1. Why you choose NUS?
2. Tell something about your research (我是研究生，后来一说他还认识我现在的老板和我们学院院长，而且我两篇APL上的其他几个作者他也认识，所以聊得还比较顺利)。最后让我问问题：
1. 由于NUS没有我研究生学习的研究方向，我想学Nano方向的东西，说了一个NUS的教授在做的东西，一说才知道这个Dr.Wang 也是搞这方向的（Nano-structure），还好他没有问我这个方向太深的东西。
2. 我问NUS物理今年给多少OFFER， 他说大概20个。
3. 什么时候可以得到结果？他说一个月，然后就结束了。
临走时对那个PP新加坡小米说："Thank you for you to assist me to finish the interview. Hope to see you in Singapore!”
假如得到不到US的OFFER，想着去Singapore也行，有个极好的朋友在那里，所以不会寂寞。钱给得也多，而且离中国近，回家也还方便，签证更是不用太操心。呵呵。希望大家OFFER多多了……
