Why study educational studies?

This course can be used as an alternate pathway into further studies in education, teaching and outdoor education.

This course provides you with sound foundation studies in education through building an understanding of contemporary expectations and requirements in the field of education. Participants will build critical thinking abilities as well as academic reading and writing skills.

With six common first year subjects, students who perform well can apply to transfer into an undergraduate teaching degree for second year.* Students may also choose to complete this degree to gain expertise in educational studies. Once completed, graduates can also choose to progress into a Graduate Entry Teaching program.

Career opportunities

The course is structured to meet a variety of needs of individuals who wish to pursue educational studies in their field of interest. Graduates can seek work in a variety of cultural, community, educational, recreation and leisure settings, including school holiday programs, training and professional development providers, local council educational agencies and youth assistance programs.
