With a strong sense of community and opportunities for involvement, it's an excellent choice for students seeking a quality education in a supportive atmosphere.
My experience at college of San Mateo was wonderful. I always got help when needed whether it was filling out FAFSA applications, getting tutoring or just someone to guide me in the right direction. All of my professors were wonderful and I was able to learn a lot from them. There is a lot of diversity here as I was able to meet many new friends from different backgrounds. I never had a negative experience here, everyone is always ready to help even the students. I don’t think I have anything that I’d suggest changing at this time.
What I liked about this college is that it is very supportive for students that live in the county as there is much financial help provided by the school itself and various of its programs, which aim to help students find more opportunities, accomplish their goals, and counsel on how to plan and take classes. There are many clubs to join, each with very interesting topics and fun and cultural activities to participate in with makes it feel like there is a true cool community at the college. In addition to financial and counseling support, there is also centers dedicated to helping students in advancing in their learning and managing how to resolve educational and learning struggles. There is also many spots on campus for one to study calmly, including the library, in front of the main college center, the village, a building dedicated to house different learning communities, and outside the art, theater, and music building, just to name a few spots.
