J Sargeant Reynolds Community College Reviews
Rating 3.66 out of 5 669 reviews
I had an easy time getting into Reynolds to start, the curriculum isn't that daunting but it's not baby steps either. I became attached to several of my instructors, like I wish I could take their classes all through college. They were so kind, accommodating, endearing, and passionate about the subject they teach, and the accommodations system adapted pretty well overtime, making it easier to set those up. The best kinds of instructors are the ones who love it and can talk freely about it without having to read the textbook word for word, and most of my instructors had that strong feel for the subject matter. While I'm not gourmet, the food I did eat on campus was pretty good, though I was addicted to some particular snacks in the cafe. I personally find taking the shuttle between two separate campuses to be a drag, the driver should also have a way to contact the kitchens so we don't have to pass by if they have nobody waiting there. All in all, I had a very solid Reynolds experience.
The advisors really take the time to know you if you meet with them about enrollment, your career path, etc. The professors for the most part are similarly invested and care about you're experience. I was at JMU for my first semester of college and transferred to J. Sargeant Reynolds for a number of reasons. I feel as though I am getting a quality education that is on parr with or even above the level I was getting at JMU, the class sizes are significantly smaller than JMU and that allows for a more personal relationship with your classmates, teachers, and advisors.
My time through the high school program that Reynolds puts on has been wonderful. Our correspondence is great and we get great classes. The area where I experience problems has been with one of my online courses, but that was only one out of three!
