The LPN program is an absolute joke. We sit in a classroom on zoom and don't get taught properly. If you're not an auditory learner, you won't do well. We don't even get shown the clinical skills in person, we watch videos and are expected to know how to do things without being taught. All the books are e-books and just the first semester books cost a grand to not even have a physical copy. The quality of education is so poor. We all failed one of the first exams but instead of the teacher recognizing that her teaching was poor, she berated all of us for not living, eating, breathing, and sleeping nursing school. Our schedule gets changed last minute, sometimes outside of scheduled class time and we're expected to just put our jobs in jeopardy or take an absence. They don't care about their students. If you have to pay for yourself to live, you better hope you can live on mommy and daddy's dime for a year. Choose a different school if you actually want to learn how to be a good nurse.
New River Community College has been really helpful with registering for school, enrolling in classes, and offering tons of support with peers, counselors, and teachers. The financial Aide office has been extremely helpful with all of it as well.
Everyone was very nice and helpful. This made my experience as a senior in high school as a dual enrolled student this past year easier going to a larger campus not knowing what to do and where to go.
