Costs & Aid

Tuition and fees at the George Washington University (GW) are comparable to the national average for private universities. These costs, set by the GW Board of Trustees, generally increase from year to year and may vary by program and location.

The Student Accounts Office provides information on graduate tuition rates and fees for individual schools.

Financial Assistance

Graduate students can fund their education in various ways and often utilize multiple resources.

The Office of Graduate Student Assistantships & Fellowships provides information about funding opportunities at the Master's and PhD levels.

The Office of Student Financial Assistance offers loans and helpful information for admitted students.

The GW Career Center has information about Federal Work-Study, part-time jobs, internships and cooperative education that can help you fund your time in graduate school.

 


Payment Options

There are a variety of payment options available to students for graduate study at GW and we are committed to helping students from all financial backgrounds attend. Please visit the Student Services Hub for more information, as well as for general tuition rates for programs on and off campus. For additional flexibility, we offer a few payment options.

 

Online Tuition Payment

GW makes life a little easier by providing online payment. The Student Accounts Office manages online payment and associated requirements through eBill. When a new payment is due, you will receive email notification with more information.

 

 

GW Monthly Payment Plan

The GW Monthly Payment Plan covers both fall and spring semesters. You can choose from three options: a 10 month annual plan, a five month semester plan or a three month summer plan. You can enroll in this plan online and must do so each academic year to continue using it.

 

Third Party Billing

Third party sponsors (i.e., private companies, embassies or government agencies) may pay all or part of a graduate student's tuition and fees directly to the university. Students are responsible for finding their own sponsors, if needed. More information on third party billing is available from the Student Accounts Office.
