The Interdisciplinary Biomedical Graduate Program (IBGP) selects students from a large pool of highly qualified applicants from all over the United States and throughout the world. They are graduates of prestigious colleges and universities with outstanding research interests and aspirations. Each year, 10 to 20 students are admitted to the program. Only students seeking a PhD degree may apply.

Funding
All full-time graduate students receive a stipend, full tuition remission, and individual health insurance (with options to purchase dental, vision, and additional family coverage). The stipend is competitive and, given Pittsburgh's affordable cost of living, allows students to live comfortably. An educational enrichment account also is provided to each first-year student.
