As a student at Tarrant County College, my experience has been both enriching and transformative. From the diverse academic offerings to the supportive faculty and staff, TCC has provided me with a solid foundation for my educational journey. One of the aspects I appreciate most about TCC is its commitment to accessibility and inclusivity. The college offers a wide range of programs and courses tailored to meet the needs of students from diverse backgrounds and with varying educational goals. My journey through Tarrant County College's Nursing Program has been a blend of profound learning experiences and challenges. While the program excels in many aspects, there's room for improvement, particularly in the realm of timely organization.However, one area that could be enhanced is the program's organizational structure. Timely organization is essential in any academic program, but it holds particular significance in nursing, where precision and efficiency are paramount.
My experience with Tarrant County College has been new, diverse and full of knowledge. I truly appreciate my professors, actually caring about what they teach, and given the support that I never knew I needed. College has helped me be social network and meet new souls. I am forever grateful for this opportunity and excited to see what the future holds!
I attended TCC from Fall 2020 to Spring 2021, and also completed Wintermester 2020—all of which were online following the onset of the COVID-19 quarantine. While I understand that this was likely the first year in which many teachers were forced to move their classrooms online, I was highly unsatisfied and disappointed during my time there—especially as TCC has offered online course since 1989 and should have better executed this sort of learning through screens. My primary concern with my TCC education was the complete lack of student interaction or collaboration with the exception of Canvas discussion boards, on which students were graded on the minimal quantity and typically underwhelming quality of their responses to other students. The only time I witnessed students working together was to share notes or cheat on homework assignments, which I heard was not so difficult to do as most of our assignments were pulled from Google. I could have sought a better education from Youtube.
