Postgraduate Accounting

Did you know there are six ways to do postgraduate accounting at Macquarie University?

  1. Master of Accounting (Professional) provides a pathway for university graduates to acquire qualifications that are fully recognised by CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA).
  2. Master of Accounting (CPA Extension) provides a pathway for university graduates to acquire qualifications that are fully recognised by CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA).
  3. Master of Advanced Professional Accounting enables students to obtain a Masters qualification studying advanced units and receive extensive academic support while they prepare for the CPA external examinations. As it is CIMA accredited, it also allows students to skip 14 papers for the CIMA qualification leading straight to the final examination
  4. Accounting can also be taken as a specialisation within the Master of Commerce. Our Master of Commerce (Accounting Specialisation) enables students with a Bachelor degree in any discipline to obtain a Masters qualification studying largely advanced units in accounting. This degree does not satisfy all the requirements for accreditation, but does allow a student to obtain advanced accounting and research skills. We also offer a Master of Commerce with a specialisation in Corporate Governance or a specialisation in Financial Crime and Governance, which is for professionals wanting to undertake a governance, fraud detection or risk management role.
  5. Master of Accounting (Professional)/Master of Commerce provides a pathway for university graduates in any discipline to acquire qualifications that are fully recognised by CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and then go on to study more advanced units in accounting.
  6. Master of International Accounting enables you to obtain a university qualification that satisfies the professional accounting accreditation requirements of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), Chartered Practicing Accountants (CPA) Australia and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) including academic support to complete the ACCA international professional accounting qualification.
