  • Exam results more than two years old cannot be considered. Exam may be taken multiple times, with only the highest score being considered.

IELTS Academic Requirements

The IELTS Academic is another option for international students to demonstrate English proficiency.

  • Overall minimum score of 7
  • Minimum section scores of 6.5 in reading, listening, speaking, and 5.5 in writing
  • Exam results more than two years old cannot be considered.  Exam may be taken multiple times, with only the highest score being considered.

Application Requirements

Mandatory Documents for All Programs

  • Transcript (unofficial or official) for eligible degrees. Official transcripts are welcomed but are only required after you have been admitted.
  • Three letters of recommendation.
  • Statement of purpose (1,000 word maximum).
  • International students only: official TOEFL or IELTS scores.

Exemption of the TOEFL or IELTS is determined by the Office of Graduate Education.

Program Costs

  1. Go to "View Tuition Costs by Semester," and select the semester you plan to start. Graduate-level programs are divided into sections: Graduate Rates–Atlanta Campus, Study Abroad, Specialty Graduate Programs, Executive Education Programs
  2. Find the degree and program you are interested in and click to access the program's tuition and fees by credit hour PDF.
  3. In the first column, determine the number of hours (or credits) you intend to take for your first semester.
  4. Determine if you will pay in-state or out-of-state tuition. Learn more about the difference between in-state and out-of-state. For example, if you are an in-state resident and planning to take six credits for the Master of Architecture degree, the tuition cost will be $4,518.
  5. The middle section of the document lists all mandatory Institute fees. To see your total tuition plus mandatory fees, refer to the last two columns of the PDF.

Special Instructions

If you are denied from the PhD in ECE, you are not automatically considered for the MS in ECE.  Please apply to one program.
