I am a dual credit student, and it has been a pleasure and honor to take classes at this school! I have had many great an unforgettable experiences with my fellow students and professors.
The Dental Hygiene Degree Program is the main reason I chose LIT as my college. As a first year student, I have completed Orofacial Anatomy, Instrumentation, Preventive Care and Dental Radiology. These classes alone have helped me identify the head and neck anatomy and record any atypical findings, show me how to properly use instruments, educate my patients about proper care and take acceptable radiographs. I really enjoy being in the program. This curriculum will prepare and teach me the skills for the Dental Hygiene National Board Exam and the Clinical Regional Exam. I also chose LIT because of their offering of free classes and reduced tuition due to COVID-19. LIT has been one of the few colleges that care about their students’ health, wellbeing, and success. They offer tutoring sessions and dual credit classes for future undergraduate students planning to attend LIT. They also offer amenities at Lamar University such as the dorms, library, and the recreational sports center.
I absolutely love LIT. When you are on campus, it just feels like a weight have been lifted. The counselors and students there are so helpful when it comes to picking a class, graduating, and even life circumstances. LIT offer students tutors and also guidance counselors. That school is really big on pushing students to fulfill their academic goals and requirements. Also going out and interacting with other students to make a change or even adventuring out to visit other organizations.
