I have been a student at MATC on and off for several years now. I also have friends and family that are and have attended MATC. Someone should investigate this school, upon submitting assignments the instructors will not provide a fair grade. No matter how good the work is they may pick and choose who they give a good grade too totally discriminative. There is also a policy, that states no work can be made up no matter what! I was sick with covid almost deadly, and the instructor would not give me an extra day to finish the exam! How is that legal very discriminative unfair practice! What's funny is the same content they teach in the curriculum goes against what they are enforcing. Until they address these issues I would stay away!
When going to Milwaukee Area Technical College, there were a lot of aspects I liked, such as the diversity. There were a lot of different people throughout the college and it was a great way to meet new people and share experiences. Even just walking through the halls was a great way to meet people, along with the many school events that were held on campus. On the other hand, there was a lot of questions I had going into college that still aren't answered. I went into college thinking I would only be going for two years, yet I ended up going for three because of my program. Overall, it is a nice school to go to and I would recommend MATC to anyone looking to pursue their Associate's Degree.
I am currently in my second year of an associates program at MATC, and I take all of my courses online. If you are looking for a school to get your general education classes out of the way at a minimum risk--especially if you are undecided on a major and just want to take classes to gain interest in topics/find a passion-- MATC is a great place to do that. Whether online or in-person, MATC offers so many programs and the faculty strives to support students. The downtown campus is right in the center of Milwaukee, with the Fiserv Forum center where the Bucks play right across from the campus. There is also a lot of night life near the campus, restaurants, and more all within walking distance from the campus.
