Learn English at Kirkwood
Kirkwood’s English Language Acquisition (ELA) course of study offers many opportunities for you to practice your English speaking and writing skills. A Kirkwood education can help prepare you for a better career, or to transfer to a four-year institution. All courses are taught in English, which helps prepare you for further study at Kirkwod. Additionally, studying English helps non-native speakers improve their employment and promotion opportunities.

Please note: if a class you need is "full," email ela@kirkwood.edu to be placed on a wait list

Please note: all classes will be online in a weblive format. You will need a computer. Here is what we recommend:
- i3 processor if new or an i5 or above if purchased in the last three years
- Webcam and Microphone
- Windows 10 operating system
- A minimum of 8 GB of RAM is recommended
- at least two web browsers (i.e. Chrome, Safari, etc..)
