I appreciate the understanding and support from all my professors, but I believe there's room for improvement in the assistance provided by academic staff for new students. They could offer more guidance and resources for tasks like applying for FAFSA aid or registering for courses.
I study there as an Oromo Muslim, and I like that they value each and every Muslim student. They even have a prayer space that is open to both genders. One thing that I have seen is that I am able to practice my religion fearlessly while ensuring that no one treats me disrespectfully.
Although my time here isn't that long, I have appreciated the people I have connected with. The bond I have with my fellow classmates to hangout after school either shopping, site seeing, cooking together, game rooms or even video games gave me a sort of belonging for my college experience. Even the staff around the building are friendly and great to chat with. I like how the culinary major pace is gradually picked up and not accelerated from the beginning. The only thing I would change is the way they grab the attention of students in participating with events or day. Every time you see an event occur, there is little to no participation from the students. But overall, I'm happy with how my time here has made a great impact on me mentally and socially.
