近日收到Northeastern University的funding,但是其中有些不太懂，跪求版主解惑，谢谢~ 截图如下：

This Dean’s Fellowship is an award that covers the fall 2017 and spring 2018 semesters.
Starting with summer 2018, you are eligible to receive a graduate assistantship for a total
of 10 additional semesters. The stipend for each semester is $10,335, resulting in a
twelve-month stipend of $31,005. In addition, the award includes tuition remission each
semester for a maximum of 12 semester hours per semester in your program of study as
approved by your academic advisor and by the Graduate School of Engineering. This
award covers the University Health Insurance fee, which is currently $2,159; however, it
does not cover other fees such as the University Health & Counseling Services Fee, student
center, and student activity fees (approximately $500 for the academic year). Therefore,
the approximate total annual value of this award package, including stipend, tuition
remission, and health insurance is $86,120.  

我申请的是2017秋季。这里面的意思是第一年是Fellowship,后面是graduate assistantships吗？10 additional semesters是啥意思呢？

你这是全奖了，第一年Dean’s Fellowship，第二年起就是graduate assistantship。你PhD要读5-6年的呀，10 additional semesters就是后边那些年份给你的奖学金。

每年给你8万多的奖学金，这应该是很强的私立学校吧，哥大的感觉？

嗯对，NEU, 谢谢版主！那第一年的Dean's Fellowship也是每年8万吗，感觉那个8万多说的像是Graduate assistantship呢

@June　应该是指全部的，包括Dean's Fellowship。

顺便咨询下版主吧，环境工程的话Northeastern University, University of Pittsburgh和University of Delaware哪个稍微好一些呢？

@June　PhD主要看你跟的导师，这三所学校差别不大，不管从哪个角度。

恩 但是东北大学这几年的排名蹭蹭往上涨，不知道有没有优势呢

@June　东北大学是个综排老油条，他们的校长专门针对USNEWS综排做研究调整的，比如，USNEWS综排看招生的SAT/ACT分数，它就故意拔高这两招生指标。90年代，NEU综排还在150名后，几年前还是50多位，现在39了！！再有，本科综排对研究生没什么意义啊，更何况你还是PhD。

谢谢版主的解答。哎，我太纠结了，一个是full professor, 地位蛮高，但是近几年的文章不是很好，另一个是华人女associate professor,文章质量不错。不知道选哪个了。研究方向的话都还比较感兴趣
